Yancy Doyle Martin, 63, of Saline, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023, in Shreveport. He was born on October 8, 1959, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Johnny Martin and Nelda Brown Martin.

Yancy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He and his wife, Margaret Myers Martin, shared 42 years and 11 months together. Their union blessed them with a daughter, Danna Martin Allen, who, along with her husband Thomas, survives Yancy. Yancy was a proud grandfather to Thomas "T. J." Ray Allen, Jr. and Tyler Blaine Allen.

Yancy surrendered to the Lord to preach in 1997, and he was ordained in May 2002, a testament to his unwavering faith.  His devotion to the Lord was obvious to anyone he met.   No matter where you saw him he was smiling and had a positive attitude.   He was a father to many, and always willing to forgive the wrongs of others.   Yancy enjoyed preaching the Word of God, was a great mechanic, loved dirt track racing, and fishing.  Superbee Speedway was his second home.   He loved everyone from the staff and drivers to the spectators.  Every one at Superbee Speedway was family to him.  His greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons.

Yancy was preceded in death by his father Johnny Martin, his mother Nelda Martin and his brother Billy Martin. He is survived by his brothers, Wesley Martin and Jimmy Martin (Rachal), and his sister Ann Brown. Yancy also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, who held a special place in his heart.

The pallbearers honoring Yancy's life will be Keith Elmore, Justin Martin, Jay Martin, Greg Martin, Joey Brown, and  David Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Allen, Michael Crain, Hunter Crain, Matt Holley, David Smith, and Chucky Robertson.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Grace Baptist Church at 14426 Hwy 126, Goldonna, La  71031. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM, and again on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Grace Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Hayward Hossler and Rev. Alton "Corky" Cooper. Yancy will be laid to rest at Pineridge Cemetery following the service.
