Wilma Jean McCracken Lashley, age 79 passed away peacefully in her home in Verda, Louisiana on December 10, 2023.

Wilma Jean was born October 11, 1944, to the late Wilmer and Fannie McCracken, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years Ronnie Lashley
.
Wilma Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her family and friends. She was fiercely independent to the very end.

Wilma Jean is survived by her son Kelby Lashley (Melinda); her grandson and greatest joy Kason Lashley (Katie); three brothers "The Boys", Bruce McCracken (Anita), Garland McCracken (Suzanne), and Kevin McCracken (Dana); her lifelong best friends "The Girls", Jimmie Lane Jackson and Cissy Cormane; and host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, at Southern Funeral Home.

Funeral services will take place at Southern Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 11:00 am officiated by Reverend Nathaniel Young and Reverend Robert McManus.

Pallbearers will be Lavon Hanson, Damon Cox, Ronnie Lasyone, Wesley McCracken, Shannon Dubois,  and Roger Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Chelette, Mark Jackson, and W.C. Cormane.
