Willie Frances Hall Walker, age 88 of Winnfield, was a faithful and creative lady, never idle prior to her illness.  She was a masterful seamstress, a gifted cake decorator, and a loving and dedicated quilter, through which she touched countless lives. She passed away Wednesday, September 24th at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Winnfield after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Walker was born on September 17 th , 1937 to Willie Verne Hall and Georgia Stubbs Hall in Winnfield, LA. She grew up and lived in Winnfield her entire life. She retired from Central Louisiana Technical Community College in 2001. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Winnfield  and also a member of Kisatchie Quilt Guild, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Winn Genealogical and Historical Association, and Methodist Women.

She loved to create and make quilts, embroider clothing and towels for her family,  grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a talent for cake decorating and loved to make unique and special cakes for her family's celebrations – Birthdays, Weddings, and Anniversaries.  Mrs. Walker's love of quilting had her creating beautiful quilts, each a work-of-art, that her family will treasure for generations to come. Beyond her creative skills, Mrs. Walker will be remembered for being the best Mema, mother, and aunt to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Hewey G. Walker, her sister, Martha Hall Hanson, her great grandson, Roch Christopher Drago, and great granddaughter, Kenzie Nicole Caskey.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Jean Walker Caskey and husband David of Bossier City, and Elizabeth Skains and husband Mark, of Tyler, TX.; grandchildren Erin Granberry and husband Brian of Fairfield, TX.; Justin Caskey and Jessica Vowels and husband Robert of Bossier City, and great grandchildren Conner Vowles, Lillie Vowles, and Jett Jeffress; her brother James Hall of Huntsville, AL.; her brother-in-law John T. Hanson of Winnfield, LA.; her nieces Alissa Hammons and Leah Hanson Carpenter of Winnfield, LA.; her nephew David Hall of Huntsville, AL.; and her great nephew, Jensen Hammons of Mobile, AL.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 29 at the First United Methodist Church, in Winnfield, LA. From 9:30 am until the time of the services.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, at the church with with Rev. Ashley McGuire officiating. The internment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of the Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, LA.

Those serving as pallbearers will be: Chip Hammons, Jett Jeffress, Robert Vowles, Conner Vowles, David Hall, and Brian Granberry.

The Walker family wishes to express their heart felt gratitude to the nurses and aids at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home, that cared for their mother during her illness.
