Willie Glen Emmett, of the Yankee Springs Community of Winn Parish, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 31, 2023. He was born on Friday, March 13, 1936 in Ward 10 of Winn Parish. Mr. Willie Glen attended Calvin High School until he began his 40 year career in the logging industry.

He was a faithful member of Yankee Springs Baptist Church where he served as song leader and Sunday School secretary.

Mr. Willie Glen loved God, his family, gardening, and mowing grass.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bashie Blake Emmet and William E. Emmet, and his sister, Doris Emmet Martin and her husband Charles Martin.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his wife of sixty seven years, Barbara Webb Emmett, his daughter, Sharon Emmett Reed and son-in-law, David Reed, grandson Justin Brett Reed and his wife, Danielle Creamean Reed, and great grandchildren, Reese Avery Reed and Knox Emmett Reed. He is also survived by his sister, Ora Jean Emmett Lucky (late husband - Billy Gene Lucky), sister-in-law Betty Jo Weeks and her husband Evyonne Weeks, and sister-in-law Sue Wall and her husband Otis Wall, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Southern Funeral Home Friday, September 1, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and again Saturday, September 2, from 12:00 pm until time of services at 1:00 pm. at Yankee Springs Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Bro. Mike Carpenter and Bro. Dustin Johnson will officiate.

Chosen to serve as pallbearers will be Ricky Blake, Kenneth Weeks, Logan Adams, Steven Weeks, Justin Reed, Otis Wall, D. J. Leach, and Otis Lamar Wall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cody Cummings and Evyonne Weeks.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude's or a charity of your choice.
