William Boyd Keith (Sr.), affectionately known as "Pop" to many who knew and loved him, was born November 18, 1939, in Dodson, Winn Parish, Louisiana.  He was the oldest of 8 children born to his parents, William Bird Keith Jr., and Virginia Ruth Keith Petoscia.  He passed away at the age of 83, on September 22, 2023, in Tyler,Texas, Smith County, after a brief battle with cancer.

William married the great love of his life, Linda Lee Keith Clary on his birthday, November 18, 1960, in Jackson Parish, Louisiana. William often joked that "this was the only way he could be sure he would never forget their anniversary". They went on to have two sons, first William Boyd Keith Jr. and then James Patrick Keith.  William and Linda shared a rich loving life together with friends and family for the next almost 50 years until the time of Linda's death November 4, 2009.

Later in April of 2011, William married his second wife, a very sweet and wonderful lady named Jennifer Barnes Keith. Both she and her children Jessica Canerday, Terry Vines, and Shawn Vines and their spouses, children and grandchildren became a cherished part of his life and family.

William worked most of his life as an oil and gas landman, and for a time drove a big rig for a living.  This work took him all over the country, but he always called Winn Parish Louisiana "Home". He had a cheerful, personable nature that accented his snazzy western shirts, boots, starched jeans, and always made him a great favorite with clients and coworkers alike.

William was a faithful, hardworking, kind, and generous soul who was greatly loved by all who knew him personally and professionally.  He was a jokester who always had a twinkle in his eye and a chuckle on his lips. He loved football, genealogy, western movies, and reading his Bible. Most importantly, William loved the Lord with all his heart and was welcomed into the arms of his Savior. However, he will be greatly missed by those whom he left behind.

William was preceded in death by his parents; both of his wives; and two of his siblings, Russell Collins Keith, and Renee Coker Keith.

Left to cherish his memory are his son William Boyd Keith, Jr. (Dana); their children, Jared, Maggie, Daniel and Eli; and his son James Patrick Keith (Tara); and their children Layton, Marissa, Jared, Trenton, and Cassie, and their families.  He is also survived 5 siblings, Shirley Heddon,  Keith and Louise Bodry, Keith, Michael Keith, John David Keith, and Joseph Wayne Keith; in addition to grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many special longtime friends including his dear friend, Billy Hill.

Memorial Services are scheduled for what would have been his 84th Birthday, Saturday November 18th, at East Winnfield Baptist Church, 6586 Hwy. 34, Winnfield, Louisiana 71483 at 2 pm, with Bro. Jeff Shows and Bro. Brad Jones officiating. Interment of his ashes will be in Liberty Chapel Cemetery, Williana, Grant Parish, Louisiana under the direction of Southern Funeral Homes, Winnfield.
