William Morris
Jones
Apr 29, 1939 — Mar 1, 2026
William Morris Jones, known to all of us as Bill — passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, at the home he shared with his loving
wife, Marita.
Bill was born on April 29, 1939. He was a hardworking and dedicated man who retired from Winn Rock after many years of service.
Among his coworkers, he was known as "Peter Jack". Bill had a playful spirit and was always "picking" at someone, keeping
those around him laughing with his natural gift for joking. He had a deep passion for boxing and loved watching a good match. He would often sit on the floor on his knees, coaching the fighters as if they could hear him through the television.
He also loved hunting, running dogs, fishing, and gardening. Some of the most treasured memories were days spent fishing from sunup to late in the evening.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Davis and Elma Jones; his sisters, Helen, Pauline, and Frances; his brother, J.D. Jones; wife, Wilma Caskey Jones; and Roger Weeks, son by marriage.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Marita Hennigan Jones; his daughters, by marriage, Denise Crick, Elizabeth Smith; and son-in-law
Neil Crick; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026 at the Jones Family Cemetery off Mack Martin Road, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Bill will be deeply missed, but his laughter, lessons, and love will always be remembered.
