William Jesse Carpenter, age 81, of Goldonna, Louisiana, was received into Heaven on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. He was born to the union of William Henry and Irene Sullivan Carpenter on June 18, 1941, in Winnfield, Louisiana.

Mr. Jesse was a graduate of Calvin High School, and later proudly served his country in the United States Navy.He accepted the Lord at an early age and faithfully served as a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, ministering to the needs of the church family. He worked in the logging and trucking industries; however, he had a real love for carpentry, planning and constructing his own house, building furniture and other projects in his shop, as well as working commercially until poor health forced him into retirement at the age of 80. When at home, you could always find him working in his shop or attending to his many birds and chickens which brought him much enjoyment.

Preceding Jesse in death are his parents, William Henry and Irene Sullivan Carpenter; and step-mother Ruth Skains Carpenter.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Bernice Barnhill Carpenter; two daughters, Sandra Spruell and Susie Autrey; eight grandchildren; twenty- three great grandchildren; one brother, Bo Carpenter (Evelyn); one sister, Martha Bates (Gary); one Aunt, Mary Lou Carpenter; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Winnfield with Bro. Charles Malone and Bro. Dick DeBusk officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.

Friends may visit with the family at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Friday, from 9:00AM until time of services.

Those honred to serve as pallbearers are Jason Bratton, Brandon Bratton, Shane Goodwin, Seth Carpenter, Tyler Haymon, and Matthew Haymon. Serving as Honory Pallbearer will be Ray Bratton.
