Mr. William Joseph Baxter, a beloved resident of Goldonna, Louisiana, peacefully passed away at the age of 90 on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

William was born on Tuesday, January 3, 1933, in Haynesville, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Hargis Baxter, his father, Julius Baxter, his first wife and the mother of his children, Vera Sue Rowell Baxter, his second wife, Elouise Pepper Baxter, his brother, Dale Baxter, his sisters, Dorothy Sikes and Linda Silvas, and his grandson, Bart Boyd.

William served his country with honor and dedication, retiring as a Technical Sergeant from the US Air Force after 25 years of faithful service. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he pursued a career as a Millwright, demonstrating his skilled craftsmanship for several years. He was a devout member of the Antioch Bibleway Church, finding solace and strength in his faith.

William will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loved ones. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Stewart (Dale), his son, Michael Baxter, his grandchildren, Brandon, Daniel, Tanya, Shelly, Dusty, and Caleb, as well as 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters, Madge Bevill, Mynell Lee, and Connie Edwards.

The family will be receiving friends on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Antioch Bible Way Church, starting at 9:30 AM until the time of services.

Funeral services to honor William's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Antioch Bible Way Church, officiated by Rev. Richard Harmon. Following the service, interment will take place at the Goldonna Cemetery with US Military honors, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
