Mr. Wilburn J. Smiley, age 76 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022.

Born Tuesday, August 28, 1945 in Winnfield, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Lottie Cunningham Smiley and Fred Ander Smiley; first wife, Johnette Wise Smiley; infant daughter, Kandance Smiley; brothers, L.V. Smiley, C.L. Smiley, Alvin Smiley, and Glen Smiley; and sisters, Thera Lee Durbin and Vera Gresham.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sarah Smiley; son, Mark Smiley (Mandy); grandchildren, Chris Smiley, Canaan Smiley, Jacie Tims Smiley, and Madison Smiley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Southern Funeral Home, from noon until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Rayford Chandler and Rev. Ted Sharbino officiating. Interment will follow in Hurricane Creek Cemetery, in Dodson.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Paul McCain, Donald Boyett, Jr., Stacy Dark, Craig Dark, Cody Hammons, and Brandon Dubois. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Boyett, Sr., James Box, Jr., and Mark Hammons.
