Lester Wayne Triplett passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Monroe, Louisiana. He was 88 years old.

Wayne proudly served 20 years in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. He completed three tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. Following his Vietnam service, Master Sergeant Triplett continued his military career as an aircraft and helicopter maintenance instructor.

During his time overseas, Wayne and his family enjoyed traveling and exploring many different countries. While stationed in Germany, he developed a passion for clocks, becoming an avid collector and hobbyist repairman of antique German timepieces.

After retiring from the Army, Wayne moved his family to Jonesboro in 1978, where he took over the family business, Triplett Radio and Television. He successfully ran the business until his second retirement in 2000.

Wayne was known for his wonderful sense of humor. He loved to joke and tease, and those who knew him understood that if he picked on you, it was his way of showing affection. A devoted family man, he worked hard throughout his life to provide for those he loved.

He was also a kind and generous soul who looked for ways to help others. It was not uncommon for Wayne to find used computers, repair them, and donate them to students who needed one.

Wayne is survived by his daughter, Kim Triplett West; son, Tommy Wayne Triplett; grandchildren, Cali Winkler (Devin) and Alexander West; great-grandchild- Peyton Winkler; sister, Sue (Triplett) Roby Saragusa; nieces, Susan Roby, Tracey Roby, Janet Smith and Sheilah (Thompson) Nugent and HiSook Lee; nephews, HanSun Lee, HanSul Lee and Paul Kim; and a host of other nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
