Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Brown, 86, of Quitman, Louisiana will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Walker officiating.  Burial will follow in the Panola Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service Thursday at Hawthorns.

Mr. Wayne Brown was born October 14, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana.  He passed this Sunday, November 3, 2024 in Quitman, Louisiana.  Wayne was the baby of four children born to the marriage of Mary Aleen Hanks and Audry Brown.  He was raised and schooled in Benton High School and graduated in the class of 1957.

Mr. Brown would serve his country through the U.S. Air Force until he retired from the military.  Wayne worked for the pharmacy business until his retirement.  He married Mary Sue Karm and they spent 25 years together until she preceded him in death in 2017.

Mr. Brown loved fast pitch softball, the Dallas Cowboys and attending gospel singings with Sue.  He is also preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jean Horton, Charles Brown and Jack Brown.

Mr. Brown is survived by his devoted children, son, Rickey Wayne Brown and wife Lisa of Quitman; daughter, Linda Galicia and husband Boni of Conroe; step children, David Fairbanks and wife Jacque of Conroe, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. of Conroe, Tammy Williamson and husband Paul of Conroe, Lori Fairbanks and "Big Mike" of Conroe; grandchildren, April Perry, Byron Sepulvado, Kara Kelley, Josh Brown; numerous great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Winston Horton, Bobby Horton, Lucas Brown, Josh Brown, Byron Sepulvado, D.J. Fairbanks and Boni Galicia.
