Mr. Van Dale Evans of Jena, Louisiana claimed his Heavenly Home on Sunday, July 6, 2025 suurounded by his family and friends. Mr. Van Dale was born to the union of the late Elmos and Elva Willis Price Evans in Jena, Louisiana on June 30, 1947.

Mr. Van Dale spent his working career as a heavy equipment operator and also as a Federal Game Warden. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force and National Guard for 20 plus years. In his spare time he loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all loved and cherished every single minute with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a devoted member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Jena and loved the Lord with his whole heart. He never met a stranger.

Mr. Van Dale was preceded in death by his first wife Sheila Jo Evans; second wife, Debra Poole Evans; parents, Elmos and Elva Willis Price Evans; siblings, Margaret Long, Ima Jean Sandifer, Glen "Pete" Evans, and Donna Gail Robertson.

Left to love and cherish his memory are his children, Tony Van Evans and Tracy Zimmerman; grandchildren, Dainelle Brown (husband Heath), Dillon McCartney (wife Madelyn); great grandchildren, Landon Ty Brown, Camryn Brown, Layla Brown, Pete Thomas McCartney; sister, Beth Evans freeman; and numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves a great legacy behind and certainly set an example by the exemplary life he lived for all to follow.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Temple Baptist Church of Jena from 5:00PM until 8:00PM, and again on Wednesday, June 9, 2025 from 9:00AM until time of services.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2025 at 10:00AM at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Gresham and Rev. Carl Gulde officiating. He will be laid to rest immediately following the service in Mt. Zion Cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home.

Those honored to serve the family as pallbearers are Tony Van Evans, Dan Evans, Ty Brown, Bryan Robertson, Hunter Robertson and Dillon McCartney. Honorary pallbearers are Shelby Pritchard, Don Gohmert, and Blake Paul.
