Trudy Ann Thompson Burkes, age 54 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 after a long and valiant battle with cancer.

Trudy was born Saturday, July 20, 1968 in Alexandria, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, L. G. and Delia Dubois Thompson; sister, Robbie Youngblood.

Trudy will be remembered fondly, by her family and friends, as free-spirited and a exceptional cook.  She enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family and kept an immaculate home. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and her fur-baby.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Lance Vercher (Candise); granddaughters, Alexis and Kaylee Vercher; beloved fur-baby, Lizzie Ann Burkes; sisters, Lisa Dubois and Rhonda Kay Revier; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services for Trudy, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Summerfield Baptist Church with Reverend Jeremy Brister officiating.   Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Friends may pay their respects by visiting with the family at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
