Thomas Gilbert May, age 83, of Winnfield, Louisiana, entered his eternal rest on Thursday, April 18, 2024.

Tom was born September 11, 1940 to Ernest Vernon May and Gladys Irene Gilbert in Somerset, Pennsylvania.

After graduating Dormont High School, Dormont, Pennsylvania, he received a forestry degree from Paul Smith's College in New York. He moved to Kentucky, Florida, and Louisiana to work for the U. S. Forest Service for over 35 years. Later, Tom studied at Northwestern State University and Millsaps College. He worked in Law Enforcement, as an EMT, and served as a pastor with 4 local churches. He enjoyed serving with the Kairos Prison Ministry, Winn Parish Community Pantry, Cursillo, Boy Scouts of America, Lions Club, and was a Grace Camp Counselor. Recently, he was a Lay Leader at Christ Wesleyan Fellowship of Winn. Tom was a faithful member of the Winn Wesleyan Fellowship, Kisatchie Fly Fishers, and Road Scholars. He had a passion for everything outside - this was his happy place! Tom loved nature, birds, fishing, bike riding, hiking, kayaking, traveling and photography. He spent his days working in the yard, checking in with family and friends, reading, and enjoying his favorite cookies. Tom had a passion for Christ! He shared all about Jesus with others and invited them to church. He Fully Relied On God.

Thomas Gilbert May was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Lee May, daughter Amy Robertson, and brother Richard May.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie K. May, of 19 years, as well as his daughter Carrie (Kevin) Simmons. Pa May was cherished by his five grandchildren Ben, Beau (Kayla), Katelyn, Mitch, and Nate, and two great-children Oliver and Amelia.

Family and friends are invited for visitation, Saturday May 11, 2024 between 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m., at Christ Wesleyan Fellowship of Winn (First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary), Winnfield, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Winn Parish Community Pantry (PO Box 302, Winnfield , La 71483) or Christ Wesleyan Fellowship of Winn (PO Box 190 Winnfield, La 71483).
