Terri Johnson Mercer, 63, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, at her son's home, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.
Born on July 15, 1961, in Winnfield, La. Terri was the beloved daughter of Roxie Johnson and the late James Johnson. She was a devoted wife of 46 years to Jerry Wayne Mercer and a proud and loving mother to her children: Phillip Mercer (Tara), Brandi Toms (Randell), and Lori Mercer.
Terri's greatest joy in life was being a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren Payton, Makayla, Myleigh, Lexie, Lauren, Kaylee, Ty, and Kale and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Terri was well known in her community for her many years of dedicated work in public stores, where her bright smile and kind heart were a welcome sight to many in the early mornings. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is also survived by her loving siblings: Dawn Tucker (Charles), Kerri Jean McKinney (Clint), Kathy Heard (Ross), and brother James Johnson Jr. (Bernice) and Dillan Johnson. She was preceded in death by her father, James Johnson, and her brother, Jerry Lynn Johnson.
Terri will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her joyful spirit, and her unwavering kindness. Her legacy of love and laughter lives on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Lamar Carpenter and Rev. David Broadway officiating. Interment will follow in Jones-Allen Cemetery, in Winnfield.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until time of services.
Serving as Pallbearers are Payton Mercer, Ty Toms, Kale Toms, Randell Vines, Corey Vernor and Stu Toms.
