Stevie Waggoner, age 61, of Coushatta, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026, in Shreveport. Stevie was a fun-loving man who embraced life with a smile, a hearty laugh, and a playful sense of humor. He never met a stranger and was always ready to strike up a conversation, share a joke, or give someone a little good-natured teasing. He had a generous heart and especially enjoyed bringing family and friends together over a delicious meal, often showing off his cooking skills by frying up a mess of fish.
A true outdoorsman, Stevie found happiness in hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. He held a special place in his heart for the old Waggoner home place, where he loved spending time and making memories. Known far and wide for his exceptional skill operating a road grader, Stevie took great pride in his work and was considered by many to be the best around. Above all, Stevie treasured his family, especially the close bond he shared with his son, Craig, whom he proudly considered his best friend. Stevie will be remembered for his friendly nature, his love of laughter, and his ability to make everyone around him feel welcome. His larger-than-life personality and the memories he leaves behind will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Stevie is survived by his wife, Marie (Champion) Waggoner; son, Craig Waggoner (Summer); stepsons, William Bailey and Daniel Bailey; sister, Donna Waggoner; niece, Stephanie Holley (Lane); and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ray Waggoner, Sr.; mother, Sudie Bell (Franks) Waggoner; and brother, Robert Waggoner, Jr.
Pallbearers will be David Dobson, Jeff Nelson, Heith Conley, Lucas Thomas, Taylor Vascocu, Cody Bedgood and Clint Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Nobles, Earnest Graves and Norville Godwin.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 11, and details will be posted soon.
