Mrs. Sarah Elaine Camp, age 78, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana with her family at her side after a lengthy battle with Leukemia.
She was born January 24, 1947 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, later moving to Winnfield, Louisiana after marrying her husband of 56 years, Julius Camp in 1968.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Katherine Flohr Cook, her son Kevin Chad Camp, and her infant son Justin Brad Camp.
She was a resident of Winnfield, Louisiana but has spent the last five years with her husband at their Lake Home on Caney Lake in Weston, Louisiana. She was currently employed as owner and insurance agent at Camp Insurance Agency in Winnfield since 1986. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winnfield. She enjoyed planting and taking care of her flowers in her yard. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who knew her as "Nana".
She is survived by her husband Julius Camp, her daughters Tiffany Waters and husband Craig, Keri Lowrey and husband Brendon, daughter-in-law Latrelle Camp, her brother Larry Cook and wife Lydia, and sister Mary Jones. She is also survived by ten precious grandchildren: Josie Camp, Alex Camp, Andrew Camp, Caitlyn Waters, Caleb Waters, Carlynn Waters, Madelynn Lowrey, Braeden Lowrey, Paige Lowrey Kelley (Shawn), and Lacey Lowrey Bryant (LaQuan); nephews Andy Cook, Trey Jones, and niece Katherine "Kaka" Gidley.
Funeral services for Mrs. Camp will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025 in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Southern.
Friends may visit with the family in the Southern Funeral Home on Monday from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 pm. and also on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
Those serving as pallbearers will be: Craig Waters, Ethan Brantly, Caleb Waters, Brendon Lowrey, Alex Camp, and Andy Cook. Honorary Pallbears are Braedon Lowrey, Trey Cook, Kent Giddley, and Andrew Camp.
The Camp Family would like to express their heart felt gratitude for the excellent care given to our mother by all of her health care professionals during her time of illness.
