Sandra Gail Varnell passed away peacefully of Monday, July 17, 2023 at the Plaza Health and Rehab Center in Gainsville, Florida. Ms. Varnell was a graduate of Radford High School, Honolulu, Hawaii. She was also a graduate of Northwestern State University of Natchitoches, Louisiana and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Alachua, Florida where she participated in the church choir; the Young at Heart Choir of First Baptist Church, High Springs, Florida; the women's missions union (WMU); and the Quilters of Alachua County Day Guild.

Ms. Varnell was preceded in death by her parents, Talmadge "Pete" Varnell and Doris Maxey Varnell; one brother, Terry Vernon Varnell.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Beverly Varnell Jones of Florida; nieces, Melissa Jones Grant, and Sarah Varnell of Louisiana; one nephew Timothy Varnell of Texas and their families; as well as her extended family and friends who deeply cared for her.

The family will recieve friends at Southern Funeral Home on June, 19, 2024 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM.

Graveside Services and Inurnment will be held in the Winnfield City Cemetery of Winnfield, Louisiana immediately following visitation under the direction of Southern Funeral Homes of Winnfield. Friends may offer condolences to the family at www.southernfuneralhome.com
