Sadie Mae Cox Ballard, age 93, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Forest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jonesboro, Louisiana. She was born on March 5, 1932, in Middleton, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Parker Davis Cox and Ina Mae Pipken Cox.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ballard; two sons, Thomas D. Carlile and Michael D. Carlile, Sr.; as well as her siblings Ruthie Dailey, David Cox, Parker Cox, and Audrey Cox.

Those left to cherish her memory include three grandsons, Michael Carlile, Andrew Carlile and Thomas Carlile; two granddaughters, Alina Sorrell and Jolie King; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Patsy Adell Johnson, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Garden of Memories Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Friends may visit with the family at Southern Funeral Home on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.
