Ms. Ruthora Hawkins Coburn of Georgetown, Louisiana passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 in Winnfield, Louisiana. She was born June 10, 1926 in East Prairie, Missouri to the union of Benjamin Franklin Hawkins and Orbie Grayson Hawkins. She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband J.B. Coburn, Sr; daughter Sharron Blake siblings Rosie Jones, Buford Hawkins, Irene Barbee, Wreathia Jolly, and Velma Dick.

Those left to cherish her memory are children Paulette Baxley, Bryant Coburn (Wanda), Vicki Spikes (Louis), grandchildren Johnnie, Stephanie, Randy, Casey, Cindy, Bryant III, Benjamin, Richard, and Tammy; 25 Great-Grandchildren; and 15 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by a son-in-law Bruce Blake, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a long time member of Zion Baptist Church in Georgetown, Louisiana. She also enjoyed quilting, flower gardening, fishing, and hunting. She frequently reminiced about childhood memories of growing up in Missouri and the special love she felt for her nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2PM Sunday with Rev. Billy Prince officiating in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The eulogy will be delivered by Grandson Richard Spikes. Friends may visit with family at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 12PM until 1:30PM.

Those honored to serve the family as pallbearers are grandsons Richard Spikes, Bryant Coburn III, Benjamin Coburn, Johnnie White, Randy Blake, Casey Blake, and Bain Bannon.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Zion Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 231 Georgetown, Louisiana 71432.
