Mr. Roy Dale Davison, age 88, of Montgomery, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was born on Monday, November 15, 1937, in Wheeling, Louisiana.
Mr. Davison devoted over 30 years of his life to the petroleum industry, where he built a respected career through hard work and dedication. Outside of his profession, he found his greatest joy in the simple and meaningful things in life—spending time with his family and tending to his vegetable garden, a pastime that reflected his patient and nurturing spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Cleveland Davison and Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Meyers Davison; his sister, Gertrude Marie Davison Melder; and his brothers, Leo G. Davison, John Cleveland "J.C." Davison, I.D. "Buddy" Davidson, E.D. Davison, Jerry F. Davidson, and Charles Robert Davison.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 63 years, Jeanette A. Bishop Davison; his children, Travis Roy Davison (Margaret) of Montgomery, Sherron Davison Oxley (Danny), Crystal Lee Lodrigue (Shane), Racheal Nicole Houston (Dillon), and Daniel Roy Davison; his brother, Clyde V. Davidson; his grandchildren, Maranda Sawyer (Chris) and Sherry Scott (Scotty); and a host of great-grandchildren: including Jayden Lodrigue, Raeliegh Houston, Alivia Houston, Isabella Houston, Ryder Houston, and Nolan Davison Haley Kilgore (Josh), Chris Sawyer, Jr., Jamie Scott (Anna), Jace Scott, Jenna Scott, Jordan Scott.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Danny Oxley, Daniel Davison, Mark Davidson, Steven Davidson, Ronnie Davidson, and Michael Davidson.
A time of visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Montgomery on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Montgomery, with Rev.Joe Hendrickson and Rev. Michael Whittman officiating. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery.
