Roy Vernon Cotton, Sr., a lifelong resident of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the age of 70. He was born on December 15, 1953, in Winnfield to the late Richard N. Cotton, III, and Charlene Bryant Cotton.
Roy dedicated his life to serving his community. He retired from the Winnfield City Police Department after years of faithful service and, more recently, worked as security for 6C Fabrications. Known for his steadfast commitment and calm presence, Roy's influence was felt in both his career and personal life.
He is survived by his son, Roy "Bubba" Cotton, Jr., his brothers, Richard (Donna), Donald (Suzanne), Frederick (Karen), David (Martha), and Joseph; and numerous nieces and nephews. His family meant everything to him, and the bonds he shared with them were a source of immense joy and pride.
Roy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Richard N. Cotton, III, and Charlene Bryant Cotton.
The family invites friends and loved ones to gather for visitation at Southern Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM. A graveside funeral service, officiated by Rev. Russell Jones, will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bubba Cotton, Tommy Cotton, Andy Roberts, Josh Cotton, T.J. Cotton, and John Dupree.
