Mr. Ronald Lee Preston, age 68 of Monroe, Louisiana passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022.

Born Wednesday, April 7, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky, he was preceded in death by his parents, Vandelee Simmons Preston and Austin Preston; sister, Sandra R. Hodges; and daughter, Danetta Preston.

Mr. Preston served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a musician most of his life and played multiple instruments. His favorite instrument was the steel guitar.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Jonathan Preston; daughter, Shantel Newman (Kyle); grandchildren, William Wayne Preston, Corie Christopher Preston, Lincoln LeRoy Preston, Dexter Dean Preston, and Nevaeh Nicole Preston; and siblings, Austin A. "Toby" Preston and Sharlene Revels.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Welcome Home Baptist Church, from 12:00 PM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Welcome Home Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Wesley and Chaplain Daniel Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Jason Jordan, Joe Shields, Caleb Shields, Jacob Murphy, Rick Moss, Carl Chisom, and Ethan Fisher. Vernon Carpenter will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
