Mr. Ronald Conrad "Ronnie" Cherry, age 82 of Olla, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Born Saturday, July 27, 1940 in Monroe, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma North Cherry and Earl Cherry; wife of 45 years, Dorothy Cherry; and siblings, Abe Cherry, Linda Ryder, and Sue Naron.

Mr. Cherry enjoyed hunting, gardening, building birdhouses, tinkering in his shop and working on tractors with Mr. John. His favorite pastime was sitting on his porch in his rocking chair while drinking coffee giving orders and supervising. He made sure the dogs got their morning and evening cookies and waited everyday for Tooterbug to get home to talk about our day. Papaw loved us all and would do anything for us.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Rhonda Kay Thompson, Tina Murphrey, Keith Cherry, and Lynda Gayle Cherry; grandchildren, Jerilynne Cherry (Jeremy), Casey Jeffery, Damon Cherry, Dougie Murphrey, Angela Ketten, Heather Simons, Tommy Murphrey, Amber Taylor, Brandy Duchesne, and Cody Duchesne; 22 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Southern Funeral Home, from noon until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Rosales and Rev. Billy Prince officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, in Tullos.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Quinten Jeffery, Dougie Murphrey, Cody Taylor, Adam Barton, David Bryant, and Heath Denison.
