After a long illness of 50 years, Bob gained his Angel Wings on January 21, 2022 in Brownsville, Texas, his Winter Home, while surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born April 1, 1946 in Pineville, LA., to his parents Millard Truett and Alice Christine Doughty. He enjoyed his early years living next door to his Paternal Grandparents in Manifest. At age six, the family moved to Jena, where his Dad owned and operated Doughty's Service Station. This is where Bob would develop his passion for anything on wheels, starting as a crew hand at age 11. He overhauled an engine at the age of 13! Automobiles, and airplanes, would be his life-long hobby.

Bob graduated from Jena High School in 1964, then joined the United States Air Force in 1965. He was in the Communications field of service, and was stationed outside Madrid, Spain for 3 years, where he would enjoy many car club events. He returned home in October 1967 to make Linda Book his Bride. She joined him in Spain, where they had a two year honeymoon! Sadly, his Departure Physical would reveal that he had acquired Histoplasmosis, a fungus disease assaulting his right lung.

Upon discharge from the Air Force in 1969, Bob attended Louisiana Tech University for two years. He then transferred to the University of Houston, graduating in 1976 with a Mechanical Engineering Degree, focused on Heat and Power. He worked for General Electric for 7 years, then moved on to other power industry facilities. He was the Owner and President of Turbine Services, Inc. for 25 years, retiring two years ago.

When not working, Bob and Linda were enjoying their many traveling adventures in their sports cars, or RV's, or flying to Cancun or Spain! Bob loved his many years of "Working on Cars" in his fabulous garage. There are untold number of Car Show Events he attended in his life time! He has been a member of the National Austin Healey Club for over 40 years, and Corettes of Pa for nearly 15 years.

In addition to his parents, Bob is proceeded in death by his infant great-granddaughter Addison Doughty, father-in-Law W. A. Book, brother-in-law W. J. Book, sister-in-law Deborah Book, and best friends Ron Vallecorsa and Lee Zieger. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda (Book) Doughty of Potter Township, PA, sons Daren and wife Lisa, of Greenwell Springs, LA, and Scott and wife Vanessa, of Beaver, PA, grandsons Vaughn Doughty and wife Tia, of Hopkinsville, KY, Andrew and Evan Doughty, of Beaver, PA, Chris Matheney, of Beaver, PA, granddaughter Mackenzie Doughty, of Hopkinsville, KY, brother Tim Doughty and wife, Emmy, of West Monroe, LA, sisters Carolyn Salter and husband, Dennis of Stonewall, LA and Christine Dunklin, of Bossier City, LA, sister in spirit, Ana Zieger, of Brownsville, TX, mother-in-law Dora H. Book, of Manifest, LA, and many "In-Laws", and nieces and nephews scattered around this world, all of whom he loved very much.

Those to honor Bob as Pallbearers are Vaughn Doughty, Chris Matheney, Allen Jones, Joey Book, Adam Book, Lisa Doughty, Mackenzie Doughty, Andrew Doughty and Evan Doughty, and a procession of his beloved nieces and nephews will follow.

Honorary Pallbearers are Tim Doughty, Ben Doughty, Jeremy Dunklin, Dennis Salter, his Book Brothers-in-Law and nephews, Dixie Hamilton, Rob Larkan, Tom Cowher, Brian Warnaka, Gary Arbogast and his work crew, Tom Niznik and his work crew, Mario Alonzo and his work crew, James Farley, Ernie Balotti, Marshall Copeland, John Beck, Buster Eppler, Tom Urban, Don Harris, Earl Shamp, Bob Hebert, Ken Krueger, Stan Ginrich, Justin, Jackson and Jon Tonya, and his many Corvettes of Pa friends.

Funeral Services will be held at Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home, S. 2nd Street and E. Oak St., Jena, Louisiana 71342 on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Viewing will occur from Noon to time of Service at 2:00p.m., officiated by his brother-in-law, Bro. David Bains. Internment, directed by the Military Honor Guard, will be in the Richardson Family Cemetery, Highway 84, Jena, LA.

Considering the current virus concerns, NP95 Face Masks will be provided for those attending. And, please, if you are hesitant about attending, by all means, remain home, and say a prayer of Thanksgiving that Bob is no longer suffering, and his body has been restored!
