Rickey Lynn Barton, age 66, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on his birthday, December 23, 2024, in Ruston, Louisiana.

Born on December 23, 1958, Rickey was the cherished son of the late Gerald Barton and the late Betty Folden Barton. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Richard Dale Barton.

A graduate of Atlanta High School, Rickey dedicated his life to hard work and adventure. He made his living as a log truck driver, a profession that suited his enduring strength and connection to the land he called home.

Rickey's passions extended far beyond his work. He had a deep love for traveling, finding solace and joy in the beauty of Branson, Missouri, and the majestic landscapes of mountainous regions. His adventurous spirit also found expression in the thrill of dirt track racing, where he was both an avid spectator and a dedicated participant.

Rickey leaves behind treasured memories with his brother, Randy Barton; his niece, Candace Coonce; and his great-niece, Caylee Coonce. They will forever hold his laughter, kindness, and zest for life close to their hearts.

In accordance with his wishes, Rickey will be cremated, and his family will honor his memory in a private ceremony by scattering his ashes, allowing him to rest in the places he loved.
