Mrs. Reba Carrie (Montgomery) Matthews, 100 of Jena, La. was received into Heaven on Thursday, February 10, 2022. She was born on July 16, 1921 in Tuscaloosa, AL to James Calvin and Lula Belle (Green) Montgomery.

Mrs. Reba is preceded in death by her parents; husband Luther M. Matthews; two brothers, Hubert Montgomery and Buford Montgomery; and four sisters Vernon Harkey, Hazel Skelton, Vera Harkey, and Signa McConnell.

Those left to love and miss her are two sons, Bill Murphy of Alexandria, and Harold Ford and wife Ann of Glynn; three daughters, Barbara Waller and husband Pat of Denham Springs, Jane Dezendorf and husband Dennis of Pineville, and Tammy Adams and husband Terry of Trout; seven grandchildren, Steve Romano, Kevin Romano, Shannon Voss, Wade Ford, Leigh Anne Rivera, Jim Bob King, and Isaac Adams; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 10:00AM until 12:00PM at which time Funeral Services will begin with Rev. Daniel Breithaupt officiating. Mrs. Reba will be laid to rest in the Woodland Cemetery following the service.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers Steve Romano, Kevin Romano, Phillip Romano, Wade Ford, Joey Romano, and Michael King. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Bob King, Isaac Adams, Zachary King, Paul Romano, Noah Ford, Chase Ford and Dominic Romano.

Special Thanks to the Staff of the LaSalle Nursing Home and All Saints Hospice for their loving care of our Mom. Also, her sitters who took care of her at home, Ellen Eberwein, Dayna Brown, Mary Mabou and Sonia White.
