Mr. Richard David "R. D." Wilson, age 81, of Tullos, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. He was born on Sunday, November 29, 1942, in Rochelle, Louisiana, to the late Vezi Wilson and Melvania Walton Wilson.

Richard, known to many as a devoted family man, has joined his predeceased loved ones in eternal rest. He is reunited with his father, Vezi Wilson, mother, Melvina Walton Wilson, daughter, Kathy Ann King, and siblings Lois Curry, Marlene Ford, Edith Banks, Maxine Conn, and Jimmy Wilson.

He leaves behind cherished memories for his surviving family members, including his beloved wife, Peggy J. Coates Wilson, with whom he shared 38 years of joy and companionship. Richard is also survived by his children David Earl Wilson (Angela), Bo Brown (Sandy), and Sherry Atwell. His legacy extends to eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who will forever carry his love in their hearts.

Richard is fondly remembered by his sisters, Martha Malloy (Kenny) and Opal Hill (Mac), who will continue to treasure the bond they shared throughout the years.

A man of many passions, Richard found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding solace in the great outdoors. His love for horses was evident in the time spent riding and caring for them. Richard dedicated many years of his life to the oil industry, ultimately retiring and enjoying a well-deserved period of relaxation and family time.

A graveside service to celebrate Richard's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Crossroads Cemetery, near Tullos, Louisiana. Reverend Norris Curry will officiate the ceremony, providing comfort and support to those in attendance.
