Mrs. Peggy Ann Higdon Jones, age 71, of Sikes, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was born in Winnfield, Louisiana, on December 19, 1951. Peggy was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and a cherished member of her community.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Higdon, her mother, Lillie Milsted Higdon, and her sister, Nelda Jean Milsted. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, John Jones, her children, Seletta Tolbert (Carl), and John Jones, Jr., as well as her brother, Bobby Stanfield (Katrina).

She was an active member of the Antioch Community Church, where she found solace and community in her faith. Peggy had a passion for reading, writing, and crafting, and she shared her love for these hobbies with those around her.

Peggy will be remembered by her family and friends as a caring and compassionate soul. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

The pallbearers for Peggy's service are Kenny Gray, Yancy Hilburn, Blake Carter, T. J. Wilkerson, John Jones, Jr., Robert Rhymes, Michael Walker, and Carl Tolbert.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at the Antioch Community Church in her honor. Public visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and again on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Hayward Hossler and Bro. Don Price officiating. Peggy will be laid to rest in the Antioch Community Cemetery.
