Pauline Chandler
Loe
Jun 6, 1943 — Apr 27, 2025
Dry Prong
Pauline Chandler Loe, age 81, of Dry Prong, Louisiana, passed away on April 27, 2025, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.
Born on June 6, 1943, in Urania, Louisiana, Pauline was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from the Grant Parish School Board after 26 years of dedicated service. Pauline found joy in working in her yard and nurturing her beloved flowers, but her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family.
A woman of deep faith, she was a longtime member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Williana. Pauline had a lifelong love for animals, especially her four-legged children—Rosie, Lucy, Dixie, and Shelby—who brought her comfort and companionship through the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Loe, maternal grandparents, Guy and Mallie Kees McKeithen; paternal grandparents, Pat and Alice Oglesby Chandler; and her parents, Paul Chandler and Roberta McKeithen Chandler.
Pauline will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cheryl Speaker and husband John, and Paula Loe; grandchildren, James Wooten and wife Rachel, and Ashley Coker and husband Dale; great-grandchildren, Marlyn Flaherty and Brantlin Young; brother-in-law, Malcolm Loe and wife Martha Jane; niece, Leah McMullen; nephew, Brian Loe; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Breland officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Chapel Cemetery near Williana under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Following the graveside service friends are invited to join the family for food for fellowship in the Liberty Prayer Chapel.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers will be James Wooten, Dale Coker, Frankie Coleman, Keith Gore, Matt Flaherty, and John Speaker. Honorary pallbearers include John Wooten and George Lard.
The Loe family expresses heartfelt thanks to the staff of Rapides Regional Medical Center, Compassionate Care Hospice, Corey Lard, the Grant Parish Sheriff's Office, and Acadian Ambulance for their kindness and care during Pauline's illness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to: The Granny Paws Program, c/o Winnfield Animal Clinic, 5744 U.S. Hwy 167, Winnfield, LA 71483 and or Grant Parish Animal Care and Control, 485 Richard Drive, Colfax, LA 71417
As a reminder of her unwavering faith and the promise of eternal life, we take comfort in the words of Revelation 1:8:
"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."
