Odelia Castro, 81, of Goldonna, Louisiana, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Born on Sunday, January 16, 1944, in Raymondville, Texas, she lived a full and vibrant life, dedicating her talents to sewing and creating custom jewelry, while cherishing precious moments with her family and grandchildren.

Odelia was preceded in death by her father, Israel Joe Garza; her mother, Maria Estella Garcia Garza; her first husband, Eddie Cavazos; her brother, Joe Garza, Jr.; her sisters, Antonia, Sophia, and May Garza; and her son-in-law, Billy Boyer.

Left to treasure her memory are her loving husband, Juan Castro of Goldonna, LA; her daughters, Edna Banta (Gary), Elda Boyer, and Elma Cavazos; her son, Larry Cavazos (Wendy); five brothers and three sisters; grandchildren, Lee and Dusty Cavazos, Angel Nugent (Scott), Katie Stewart (Savanna), Billy Earl Martin, and Victoria Davis; and great-grandchildren, Avery Cook, Kaylyn, Dalton, and Tayson Nugent, Drake and Ashtyn Cavazos, Draven Hilliard, and Matthew Blackmon. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Southern Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM. Graveside services will follow at Hurricane Creek Cemetery with Rev. Ben Dupree officiating at 2:00 PM, where Odelia will be laid to rest.
