Nora Lee Carter, age 87, of Calvin, Louisiana passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023.

Born August 17,1935, in Calvin, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, G.B. and Linnie Carpenter Carter; her brother, Garlon Lee (Bud) Carter; and grandparents, Luther and Mary Collins Carpenter and David F. (Seed) and Elizabeth (Betty) Chandler Carter.

Those left to cherish her memory include her aunt, Mary Lou Carpenter; sister-in-law, Kathy Carter; nieces, Robbin Willis (Alan) and Lisa Haymon (James); nephew, Jamie Carter(Cristy); great nephews, Austin Willis (Katy), Tyler Haymon (Nicole), Matthew Haymon, John David Huckaby and Wayne Curtis Huckaby; great, great nephews, Gus Haymon and Jake Haymon; great, great nieces, Harper Willis and Graysen Willis; and special family friend, Vickie Kelley.

Nora Lee accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 13 and was baptized in Saline Creek by Bro. D. W. McDaniel. She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and a faithful member of the Encouragers Sunday School Class.  For many years, she was employed at Milam's Wholesale in Winnfield. Later in life, she worked for W.H. Collins' Construction Company and Wal-Mart, where she welcomed people into the store. This position was very fulfilling for Nora Lee as she enjoyed being around people, especially little children. Nora Lee loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She could usually be found outside working, hunting or fishing.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Bethlehem Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until time of services. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 9th, 2023 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Morrow and Dr. Charles Malone officiating.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Jamie Carter, Matthew Haymon, Tyler Haymon, Austin Willis, William (Bo) Carpenter and Donnie Carter.

The family would like to thank the staff members of Autumn Leaves Nursing Center, Hand-in- Hand Hospice and Southern Funeral Home for their care and concern during this difficult time.
