Ms. Neva D. Erskins, age 95, of Winnfield, passed from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Neva was born on September 17, 1929, in Winnfield, Louisiana, where she remained a lifelong resident. She graduated from Winnfield Senior High School in 1946 and later attended Northwestern State University for several years. She began her professional career with BellSouth and eventually attended trade school to refine her secretarial skills. Soon after, she joined Merchant's Insurance, and later served as secretary to Judge Allen at the Winn Parish Courthouse. She continued in that role for over 30 years, also serving as secretary to Judge Wright before her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Lawrence Donohoe Sr. and Majel B. Donohoe; her husband, Mr. Jr. Erskins; her son, Dannie Erskins; her nephews, Mike and Tim Donohoe; and her brother, Lawrence Donohoe Jr., along with his wife, Gloria Donohoe.

Left to cherish her memory are her great-niece, Megan Donohoe; great-nephew, Pat Donohoe and wife Ashley; great-great-nephew, Austin Esposito; great-great-niece, Mallory Donohoe; granddaughter, Payton; grandson, Dannan Erskins; special family friend, Cammy Beaullieu; devoted caregiver and friend, Christy Perrin; and a host of cousins and friends.

Neva was a faithful member of East Winnfield Baptist Church, where she was actively involved in the Grace Class Sunday School group and enjoyed participating in their many projects. She had a deep love for children and a heart for missions.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at East Winnfield Baptist Church with Rev. John Holland and Rev. Jeff Shows officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of service.

Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Pat Donohoe, Austin Esposito, David Cotton, Bob Holeman, Buddy Ferand, and Teddy Garner.
