Nena Walker Ross of Quitman passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in Ruston.  She was 72 years old. Nena loved to craft. She also enjoyed playing the piano and played for her church, Beech Springs Baptist, for many years until her health kept her from continuing.  Nena loved her family unconditionally and they loved her as well.

Nena is survived by her husband, John W. Ross; daughter, Ashley Ross; sister, Jatis Russell (Mike); brothers, Bobby Walker (Dianne) and Gene Walker; sister-in-law, Vickie Walker; brother-in-law, George Ross (Nedra); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and a grand dog, Tinker.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Lee Walker; mother, Willie Mae (Jewell) Walker Brown; brother, Martin Walker; stepfather, Jim Brown; father-in-law, Chester Ross; mother-in-law, Cornelia Ross; brother-in-law, Charlie Ross; and sister-in-law, Jean Bright.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Beech Springs Baptist Church in Quitman from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Beech Springs Baptist at 1:00 PM. Bro Jason Womack will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Scott Walker, Leo Walker, Chris Oliver, Mike Russell, Jr., Zack Page and Hunter Page.
