Nadine Ragan
Sharp
Aug 14, 1938 — Apr 7, 2023
Winnfield
Nadine Ragan Sharp, age 84 of Winnfield, Louisiana gained her heavenly wings on April 7, 2023. Her calling in life was to take care of anyone that needed it. She had a heart of caring that most people couldn't imagine. She was such a strong woman. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in this world.
She was born on Sunday, August 14, 1938, in Springhill, Tennessee to her father, Elijah Ragan and mother, Annie Pearl Kincaid Ragan. Nadine will be forever remembered as a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and sister in Christ.
Nadine was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Edward Sharp Sr., parents, Elijah and Annie Pearl Ragan, brother, Alton Ragan, sister, Lucille Napper, daughters, Nancy Sharp and Donna Jordan, son, Stephen Sharp, grandchildren, Shana, Charles, and Chad Womack, and great-grandchild, Joshua Womack Jr.
Nadine and Alfred married on June 29, 1958, and created a beautiful family – four sons and three daughters. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sheliah Beams (Bert), three sons, Michael Clayton Sharp, Alfred Sharp Jr. (Janet) and Wesley Sharp (Amanda). Seventeen grandchildren: Kevin Jordan (Calista), Christina Goynes (Dustin), Chrystal Green (Danny), Joshua Womack (Claudia), Amanda Franks (MD), LaTonya Sharp, Sabrina Brantley, CJ Brantley (Katie), Alex Sharp, Stephen Sharp,
Kelsey LeBoeuf (Quade) Weston Sharp, Ashlyn Sharp, Wesley Sharp Jr., Justice Eznack, Chelsea Ford (Sean), and Tyler Sharp. Thirty-five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Nadine had a servant heart, always putting others' needs before her own. It didn't matter what time of the day it was, if someone needed something, she was going to make sure you had it. When the church doors were open, Nadine was there. She was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. Through all the good and bad times throughout her life, she held onto her rock-solid faith. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, 2015, and 2018 and was given no hope, but she knew her Healer – and she was healed. She loved her family unconditionally. Her life was dedicated to making sure her family knew Jesus and served Him. If you missed church, she was the first to let you know. She was strong, loving, caring but was feisty and would let you know if you were not doing right according to her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at The Family Church of Winnfield with Bro. Elzie Ray Johnson officiating, Bro. Danny Green and Bro. Lamar Carpenter delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories under direction of Southern Funeral Home. The family will have a visitation on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the church and up to the time
of service on Tuesday.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons – Kevin Jordan, Joshua Womack, Weston Sharp, Wesley Sharp Jr., Alex Sharp, Stephen Sharp and CJ Brantley. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons – Jess Nelson, Hunter Jordan, Jake Womack, and Michael David Franks III.
