Myra Jeanette Williams Shows, born on January 19, 1968, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, passed away on July 23, 2026, at her home in Prospect, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Jeanette was married to her high school sweetheart, Kevin, for 40 wonderful years. A dedicated teacher for 30 years, Jeanette inspired countless young minds, primarily in her role as a third grade teacher. Her life's work extended beyond the classroom. She was a long time member of Creston Church, where she recently embraced the role of church treasurer, embodying her commitment to faith and community.
Jeanette's spirit shone brightly through her passion for traveling, particularly her love for cruising and attending southern gospel concerts. She cherished the moments spent with her family, whether it was playing with her grandsons, Bryson and Cohen, and her granddaughter, Rosie, or creating memorable family gatherings filled with love and laughter. A wonderful cook and baker, Jeanette had a knack for creating delicious home-cooked meals and crafting specialty cakes that delighted friends and family alike.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Kevin Shows; her children Kasey Shows, Steven Shows (Kalen), and Emily Vincent (Bryan); her grandchildren, Bryson and Cohen Shows and Rosalee Vincent. Jeanette also leaves behind her beloved siblings: brother Jimmy Williams, Jr. (Loretta), brother Glen Williams (Jill), sister Gwen Williams, brother-in-law Randy Shows (Julie), and sister-in-law Melissa Williams; parents-in-law Paul and Glenda Shows; stepmother Peggy Woods Williams; chosen siblings Darrell and Jeanie Dessens; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy Williams, Sr. and Myra Cloud Williams; grandparents, Dalton and Alma Lonadier Cloud, John O. and Lalla Rookh Reed Williams.
Funeral services for Jeanette will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2026 at Creston Church with Bro. George Barrett and Rev. Tim Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Friends may visit with the family in the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
Pallbearers will be Josh Williams, Collin Williams, Matthew Williams, Skip Hines, Noah Brown, and Chris Melancon.
Jeanette Shows will be remembered for her unwavering love, her infectious joy, and the countless lives she touched during her time on earth. Her legacy of kindness and warmth will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
