Mrs. Mildred Geneva Connor Murray, a cherished resident of Winnfield, LA, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born on Thursday, June 14, 1934, in New Orleans, LA, to Gilbert Connor and Iva Barksdale Connor.

Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bennie Irvin Murray, her son Monte Murray, her brothers Lavelle and Shelby Connor, and her parents, Gilbert and Iva Connor. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family.

A lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Winnfield, Mrs. Murray served as the organist for many years. She was a past Relief Society State President, Primary President of the Winnfield Ward, and Genealogy Specialist of the Winnfield Ward. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, and her influence on the community will be remembered for generations.

In addition to her religious dedication, Mrs. Murray found joy in canning, gardening, and traveling. She was a beloved grandmother who will be fondly remembered for the delicious and hearty meals she lovingly prepared for her family.

Mrs. Mildred Geneva Murray is survived by her daughters Vicky Keiffer, Kathy Swisher (Ron), and Sonya Carpenter, . She is also survived by her grandchildren Courtney, Jennifer, Michael, Nicholous, Dustin, Benji, Kristan, Ragan, Brent, and Kyle, along with 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, her brother Olaus Connor, and numerous nieces and nephews..

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Southern Funeral Home on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Additional visitation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at the church at 2:00 PM on the same day, officiated by Ronnie Taylor.

Mrs. Mildred Geneva Murray will be laid to rest in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.southernfuneralhome.com. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
