After a long courageous battle with cancer, Micheal Scott Davis departed this world in peace on September 27, 2024 at the Winn Parish Hospital in Winnfield, Louisiana

The first baby boy to grace the world of Donald B. and Gloria (Thompson) Davis entered this world on November 17, 1965 in Jonesboro, Louisiana.  He was named Micheal Scott, but most knew him by Scott.

In this world Scott served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Sample, based mostly in Hawaii.  He earned many awards and certificates while in the Navy, with welding being one of his proudest awards.  The Navy also gave him the love of travel.

Not one to stay in one place too long, Scott started working for companies such as Schueck Steel, L-Con, Berry Brothers and Heritage Links to name a few.  These jobs, along with 2 ocean cruises, took Scott to 9 different countries and 49 states- Alaska being the only one he missed.

Each new job, state and country brought stories, pictures and friends- some old, some new.  Scott made many lifetime friends that he considered family.  One in particular, Lewis "Rufus" Powell, was more than just a friend in Scott's heart; he was Scott's "Road Dad and Buddy".

When Scott was diagnosed with cancer he was lucky enough to be working and rooming with another long-time friend who he considered to be a brother, Blake Smith.  Blake became the rock that Scott and Jackie needed; always bringing a laugh or smile to Scott on his worst days.

Scott is survived by his wife, Jackie; parents, Donald and Gloria; 1 son, Micheal Davis, Jr. (Jenna); 1 step-son; Harley James; 2 daughters, Brittany Ashley (Pat) and Victoria Davis; granddaughters, Autumn and Jasmine Maggio; grandson Matthew Blackmon; brother, Stephen Todd Davis (LaWana); several nieces, nephews and extended family; and a very special aunt, Linda Peevy (Larry).

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William "Papaw Bud" and Carma Lee (Neisler) Davis, and Charlie Earnest and Lela May (Simons) Thompson.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM until11:00 AM in the chapel.  The funeral procession will then travel to Siloam Springs Cemetery near Wyatt, Louisiana for a graveside service to begin at 11:30 AM with Bro. Lance Huckaby officiating. .

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Blake Smith, Roy Thompson, Henry Torres, Larry Peevy, Mark Thompson and Micheal Davis, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Scott's co-workers and friends.
