Michael Stewart, 71, of Goldonna, LA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Born July 13, 1952, in Springhill, LA, to Huey P. and Tency Tilley Stewart (preceded in death), Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.

Michael was a longtime member of Creston Baptist Church and a retired maintenance worker at Weyerhaeuser. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, spending time fishing and camping with family and friends. He was known for his love of a good cup of coffee, especially when shared with his brother, Dale. Michael had a kind heart and found joy in feeding the squirrels and birds in his backyard, tending to his vegetable garden, and most of all, spending precious time with his loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Cloud Stewart; and great grandson, Anakin Luke.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Wendy Stewart (Bo), Chris Stewart (Michelle), and Felisha LaCour (Mark); ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Dale Stewart (Barbara Sue); sister, Tena Carter (Lanny); numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved four-legged companion, Sugarbaby.

Visitation will be held at Southern Funeral Home on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Truman Leach officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Bonnette, Jessie Wooley, Jonah Wooley, Logan LaCour, Colby Stewart, Taylor Stewart, Jesse Stewart (Hon.), Jacob Stewart (Hon.), Brandon Stewart (Hon.), Daniel Stewart (Hon.), Jameson Weaver (Hon.).
