Michael Clayton Sharp, 66, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away August 27, 2025, at Winnfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Clay lived a simple but meaningful life, always in the company of his beloved cockatoo, Angel, who remained faithfully by his side for the past 20 years. Angel was more than a pet--she was his shadow, his joy, and, as she liked to say, "Daddy's Baby Girl"

Born June 1, 1959, in Columbia, Tennessee, Clay was the son of the late Alfred Edward and Nadine Ragan Sharp. At the age of eleven, he moved with his family to Winnfield, Louisiana, where he would spend the remainder of his life. There, he attended local schools, forged lifelong friendships, and worked many years in the logging industry.

Clay was a member of Hart Assembly of God Church until his health no longer allowed him to attend. His church family remained close at heart, and he cherished every conversation with them. He often reminded loved ones, "I cannot wait to get out of here so I can go back to church."

Though Clay sometimes had a way of testing one's patience, he was a man full of love and character.  When he longed for something--whether a milkshake, a fish plate, or a box of Q-tips--he pursued those cravings with relentless determination, often calling loved ones until his wishes were fulfilled. Those small moments of persistence spoke of his spirit and his connection to the people he loved. Clay had a thoughtful soul and will be deeply missed by those who loved him most.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Nadine Sharp; maternal grandparents, Elijah and Annie Pearl Ragan; paternal grandparents, Blythe and Ida Mae Sharp; sisters, Nancy Sharp and Donna Jordan; brother, Stephen Sharp; uncles, Alton Ragan and Jimmy Sharp; and aunts, Lucille Napper and Louise Alexander. He was also preceded in death by nieces and nephews Shana, Charles, and Chad Womack, along with great-nephew, Joshua Womack Jr. Clay is survived by his sister, Sheliah Beams (Bert), and two brothers, Alfred Sharp Jr. (Janet) and Wesley Sharp (Amanda). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews: Kevin Jordan (Calista), Christina Goynes (Dustin), Chrystal Green (Danny), Joshua Womack, Amanda Franks(MD), LaTonya Sharp, Sabrina Phelps (Kreston), CJ Brantley (Katie), Alex Sharp, Stephen Sharp, Kelsey LeBoeuf (Quade), Weston Sharp, Ashlyn Sharp, Wesley Sharp Jr., Justice Eznack, Chelsea Ford (Sean), and Tyler Sharp, along with a host of great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Hart Assembly of God Church in Sikes, Louisiana with Rev. Danny Green, Lamar Carpenter and Wesley Sharp officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, at the church, from 9:00 AM until the time of services.

Serving as pallbearers will be Alex Sharp, Stephen Sharp, Wesley Sharp Jr., Quade LeBoeuf, Jess Nelson, and Danny Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Sharp Sr. and Alfred Edward Sharp Jr. Above all, Clay will be remembered for his humor, his unshakable persistence, and the unmistakable way he left an impression on everyone he met. He had a spirit that was both stubborn and endearing. Clay's presence will be missed, but his individuality and humor will not be forgotten.
