Melvin Williams, aged 92, of Winnfield, LA, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, in his cherished hometown. He was born on Thursday, October 14, 1931, in Verda, LA, to Arnold C. Williams and Susie Buchanan Williams.

Melvin was a dedicated member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. After retiring as a machinist, Melvin loved woodworking, fishing, and cooking them for his family. He was proud to serve his country with honor as a United States Army veteran.

Melvin was preceded in death by his wife Nadean Hand Williams; father, Arnold C. Williams; mother, Susie Buchanan Williams; siblings, Lela Howell, Bertha Burns, Margie Richards, Jake Williams, and Dorris Williams; as well as his son, Glen Williams.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving daughter, Karen Brazzell (Jimmy) of Winnfield, LA; son, Dave Williams; grandchildren, Johnathan, Jeremy, and Justin; great-grandchildren, Jeffery, Jalyne, Anna, and Jase; and great-great-grandchild, Elliot. Melvin is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

A funeral service will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on the same day, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Joe Evans and Rev. Dick Enterkin officiating. Melvin will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
