Sherri Melinda (Lees) Calk, age 62 of Jena, Louisiana was received into Heaven on Friday, June 21, 2024.

Melinda was born on July 16, 1961, in Alexandria, Louisiana to the union of Curtis Edward Lees and Helen Louise (Tullos) Lees. She was a remarkable woman, a devoted mother, and a loving grandmother. She laid a strong foundation for her children and grandchildren to follow her legacy. She celebrated others' triumphs and lifted them up when they were down. She gave hope and a reason to press on, always believing in others. She was a devoted worker who was never really off the clock. Melinda was known for her kindness, strength, incredible resilience, wisdom, and her great sense of humor. She sacrificed for her family and others showing unconditional love. We honor and cherish her memory.

Melinda was blessed to have had only her parents to precede her in death.

Those left to love and miss her are three (3) sons Derek Calk & wife Leslie of Trout, Daniel Calk & wife Lauren of Trout, and Jay 3 Calk & wife Tori of Harrisonburg, one (1) daughter Danna (Calk) Durham & husband Robbie of Jena, two sisters Deborah Deville and Jan Stone, nine (9) grandchildren Emmy, Baylee, Brody, Abbie, Parker, Willow, Joah, Ezra and Lilah, and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside services will be held in the Jena Cemetery, east of Jena on Hwy. 84 at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Jena Cemetery with Rev. Lanny Head and Bro. Jay 3 Calk officiating under the directions of Kinner & Stevens.

Those honored to serve Melinda and her family as pallbearers are Derek Calk, Daniel Calk, Jay 3 Calk, Robbie Durham, Brody Barton, Parker Durham, and John Robbins. Honorary Bearers are Steve Ayers, Josh Smith, Tommy Smith, and Lance Bond.
