Mrs. Mattie Lee Armstrong, age 90 of Grayson, Louisiana passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023.

Born Monday, February 20, 1933 in Winnsboro, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, Tennie Jane Monroe Franks and Abe Franks; brothers, J. E. and Dewey Franks; sister, Iola Higdon; and children, Michael Armstrong, Theresa Armstrong, Paula Peavy, Susan Templeton, and Billy Armstrong.

Mrs. Armstrong was a member of Kelly Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed humor until her last days.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Marilyn Harker (Marc) and Peggy Moore; sisters, Florene Maxey and Mavis Bruce; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Southern Funeral Home, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Southern Funeral Home, from noon until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Aguillard officiating. Interment will follow in the Bolton - Teagle Cemetery, in Winnfield.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Shannon Floyd, Matthew Floyd, Jason Moore, Marc Harker, Scott Bruce, and Daniel Blades. Carl Bruce, Roy McMullen, Lynn Maxey, and Donnie Maxey will serve as honorary pallbearers.
