Matthew Aaron Windham, age 35 of the Belah Community, passed from this life on Monday, May 6, 2024, near his home. He was born August 5, 1988, in Alexandria, Louisiana and he lived all of his life in the Belah Community, Trout, Louisiana.

Matthew was a Woodland Firefighter with the Louisiana State Forestry Service. He was also an ordained minister and previous pastor of Pisgah Baptist Church. Matthew enjoyed preaching in many LaSalle Parish Churches when needed. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Goodpine, Trout, Louisiana.

Matthew is preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred & Louise (DeMars) Windham, and Clifford W. Sharp, Sr.

Those left to cherish his memory and miss him dearly are his loving wife Tanya (Starnes) Windham, a daughter Mattie Anne Windham, and a son Avery James Windham. Also, his parents Allen & Connie (Sharp) Windham, a brother Jesse Windham & wife Melissa with daughter Miriam, a sister Becky (Windham) Zeagler & husband Michael with their children Aaron, Emma, Anna, Ella, and Andrew. His beloved grandmother Mavis (Courmier) Sharp. His father and mother-in-law Buddy & Eva Starnes, a sister-in-law Kimberly (Starnes) Corley & husband Tim with their children Caleb, Cecily, Parker, Abby, and Brooke.

The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Goodpine from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Goodpine at 11:00 AM with Rev. Brandon Poole and Rev. Travis Glenn officiating. Matthew will be laid to rest in the Belah Cemetery of the Belah Community, Trout, La. under the directions of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home.

Those honored to serve Matthew and his family as pallbearers are Dustin Robertson, Heath Payne, Tim Corley, Riley Sharp, Wesley Sharp, and Ashtyn Clark.
