Mary Ruth (Eaves) Farmar passed away at Forest Haven Nursing Home in Jonesboro on Saturday, August 17, 2024.  She was 99 years old. Ms. Mary lived in Chatham for many years and she was formerly in automotive sales.

Ms. Mary loved to cook, especially for her family. She also enjoyed gardening, ceramics, coloring, puzzles and painting.  Ms. Mary liked taking trips to California to pick up cars for her automotive business.  She really loved listening to Wayne play the steel guitar.

Ms. Mary is survived by her step son, Steve Farmar (Donna); step son-in-law, Robert Kennedy; step grandsons, Kyle Farmar and Ryan Farmar (Vania); step great-granddaughter, Sophia; daughter-in-law, Maureen Cox; 5 step grandchildren; Brandi Bearden, Michael Wood, Rebecca Flippo, Joanna Wood and Danielle Kovach; 13 step great-grandchildren; 6 step great-great grandchildren; brothers, Sonny Eaves (Juanelle) and Jimmy Eaves (Terry); special friend, Regina Chatham (Lewis).

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Eaves; mother, Edna (Dunn) Eaves; husband, Hal Farmar; son, Wayne Cox; grandson, Jacob Cox; and step daughter, Kathy (Farmar) Kennedy.

As per her wishes, Ms. Mary was cremated. A memorial service will be held at Concord Community Cemetery near Chatham on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 2:00 PM  with Bro. Russell Rhodes officiating.
