Margaret Straughan Tarver, 89, of Winnfield, LA went to be with the Lord on the morning of July 8, 2022.

Born in Delhi, LA on June 22, 1933, she later made her home in Winnfield.  She began her career at Carey Salt Mine and later retired from First Federal Savings and Loan. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church Winnfield where she was a loyal member of the Seekers Sunday School Class and also a 35 year member of the Sanctuary Choir.  Margaret was diligent in her faith and service to the Lord.

Lovingly known as "Monet" to her nieces and nephews, she always enjoyed spending time with them. She had a special way of making each feel as if they were her favorite. She enjoyed traveling with her family and spending time with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Beatrice Straughan; niece, Stacey Gardner; and nephew, Steven Straughan.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 47 years, Harold Tarver and her brother, Thomas Straughan (Reggie Lou), niece Susan Carter (Buck) all of Winnfield, La. As well as Debbie Young (Keith) of Monroe, La., Janice Stephenson of Lewisville, Tx. and numerous great nieces and nephews she considered her own.

Due to health concerns, Private services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Winnfield, Sunday, July 10 ^th , 2022 with Dr. Jerry Pipes officiating.  Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield.

Pallbearers will be her nephews: Buck Carter, Kyle Carter, Cooper Gardner, Lance Gardner, Andrew Straughan, Eli Straughan, and Jake Hemphill.  Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Tarver, Keith Young, Richard Cole, Don Causey, and Crosby Adams.
