Margaret Ann was born on February 1, 1942, she was 82.
Margaret Ann, also known as "Mardan", was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.
From a very early age, she learned a good work ethic while working on the family farm. From working the cotton fields, helping with livestock to doing whatever chores her mother and daddy gave her to do, it made her who she was.
Margaret Ann was musically gifted and enjoyed playing the piano and singing alongside her siblings on Sunday afternoons down on the farm. She loved to cook and could make sweet tea, chicken and dressing and coconut cakes like no one else.
She enjoyed volunteering for causes such as St Jude's Children's Hospital, Toys for Tots and several other various organizations. Where there was a need, she always wanted to help.
At home, anything from helping load short wood, driving any kind of tractor or farm equipment, tending to cows or just doing whatever was needing to be done around the place, she was there. In her younger years, all of the hard work at home didn't stop her from enjoying a little
church league softball in which she demonstrated her fierce competitive nature.
Most of all, Margaret Ann enjoyed taking care of and loving on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She tried to live her life to the fullest and in the end, she never left her roots. Her love for the Lord and her family never waned.
She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Hendry and husband Larry of Kentwood, LA and Robyn Waxley of Bossier City, LA. One son, Marty Weeks and wife Amanda of Jonesboro, LA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Colby Coleman and Kristin Brunett, Dallas Coleman and wife Annie, Valerie Cutrer and husband Landon, Shelby Magee and husband Jonathan, Heath Waxley and wife Taylor, Hayden Waxley and wife Madison, Harrison Waxley and Kate Boltinghouse, Marly Coleman and husband Wesley and Carson Weeks and wife Machaela. Nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
One of seven children, growing up in a very close family, her surviving brothers are, Leroy James and wife Pam of Winnfield, LA, David James and wife Sandy of Dodson, LA, and one sister, Lydia James Norwood and husband Billy of Pollock, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Myrtie Mixon James, and her brothers, Charlie James and his wife Ruth, Lynn James Sr, and his wife Geneva and Billy James.
Lovingly known as "The James Boys", her nephews, William "Bubba" James, Tony James, Lynn James, Jr., Michael James, Jody James, and Lance James will serve as pallbearers. Billy James Jr., Randy James, Shane James, Stacy James, Marshall James, and Jamie James will serve as Honorary pallbearers.
