Mrs. Lou Venia "Bennie" Weatherford Kerley, formerly of Winnfield, born on Friday, October 18, 1946, in Winnfield, LA, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the age of 77. She passed away in Shreveport, LA, her residence having been in Logansport, LA.

Bennie was preceded in death by her loving father, Rev. Clarence Weatherford, her mother, Beulah Spangler Weatherford, her devoted husband, Billy Joe Kerley, and her son, Douglas Kerley. Bennie is also preceded in death by her siblings: Ellis Weatherford, Ellen Forte, Joe Weatherford, Douglas Weatherford, Jr. Weatherford, and Betty Weatherford. Their shared experiences and the bonds they forged will continue to live on.

Having dedicated many years to her profession, Bennie retired in 2004 as the Hotel Manager of the Winnfield Best Western, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

She is survived by four individuals who will hold her memory close to their hearts. Her daughter, Jessica Kerley  and her sons, Grayson Kerley and Ronald Wayne Kerley. Additionally, she is survived by her grandson, Markiese Kerley.  Mrs. "Bennie" also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the public visitation at Southern Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, also at Southern Funeral Home, with Rev. Lamar Carpenter officiating.

The final resting place for Mrs. "Bennie" Weatherford Kerley will be Beech Creek Cemetery.
