Mrs. Linda Gaye Taylor Jones Marchand, age 78 of Haughton, Louisiana passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 surrounded by family.

Born Sunday, October 3, 1943 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, Henry T. Taylor and Gladys Carter Taylor; paternal grandparents, George C. and Mattie
Burnum Taylor; maternal grandparents, Daniel Lee Carter Sr. and Ethel Clyde Martin Carter; sister, Gloria Taylor Brewer.

Linda was a 1961 graduate of Winnfield Sr High School. She attended Spencer-Draughon Business College in Shreveport, graduating in 1962. She married Durwood Dennis Jones of Dodson, Louisiana in 1964. They had four children together. After a successful career in medical administration spanning three decades, she began a new adventure in real estate in 1994, eventually obtaining her Real Estate Broker's license in 2006. She devoted much of her real estate career to helping misfortunate families retain their homes.

Linda, an avid reader, amassed an impressive home library of many of her favorite authors. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in her yard, sewing, and cooking for her family. Her children and grandchildren will dearly miss the many delicious treasures that came from her kitchen.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Woody Jones (Tanne), Derek Jones, Lea Jones Rimmer (Doug), and Johnny Dale Jones (Ginny), former daughter in law Veronica Jones; grandchildren, Daniel, Evan, Travis, Mason, Brooke, Collin, Ryan, Savannah Taylor-Raine,
Savannah Rose, and Grace; siblings, Theda Taylor Nugent (Lawrence), Terry Travis Taylor (Cynthia), Sandra Kaye Taylor Galatas (Michael) and Francis Taylor Prince (Larry); brother-in-law, Jesse Dale Brewer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

On behalf of Mrs. Marchand, the family would like extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Tyler Lash, Brandon, Meghan and Dr. Lane Rosen and staff, and Mr. Eddie in transport, as well as all the nurses, radiology technicians, and support staff at Willis-Knighton Cancer Center; Dr. Gerry San Pedro and staff at Willis-Knighton Bossier, Willis Knighton Home Health, and Brown's Nursing Service, and especially to her beloved sitter Mrs. Linda for her enduring patience and impeccable care.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Creek Cemetery in Dodson. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Jones, Evan Jones, Mason Hooper, Travis Jones, Collin Jones, and Ryan Rimmer.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
