Linda Lou Barton, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved great-grandmother, passed from this life on April 22, 2025, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, Louisiana, at the age of 83.

Born on August 27, 1941 in Winnfield, Louisiana, Linda was a woman of quiet strength and enduring love. She was a longtime resident of Winnfield and a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church, where her gentle spirit and kind heart touched many lives. Linda found joy in the simple pleasures of life—she was an avid reader, often lost in the pages of a good book, and she took great delight in sewing, creating beauty with her hands and warmth with her presence.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Zelma Shirley Dunn; her husband, Huey P. Barton; her brothers Rusty, Jimmy, and Sammy Dunn; her son, Scott Barton; and her son-in-law, Wesly Mattingly.

She leaves behind a family who will forever treasure her memory: her daughter, Tami Mattingly; her son, Steve Barton; and her grandchildren, Jeremy, Lara, Audrey, Christopher, and Samantha. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Skyler, Rivka, Max, January, and Baby Upshaw, who is soon to arrive. Several nieces, nephews, and her devoted furrbaby, Izzy Anne, also survive her.

A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Beech Creek Cemetery. A confirmed date and time will be shared once finalized.

Linda's legacy of love, faith, and family lives on in those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
